Bears move on from coach Matt Eberflus after horrendous last-second loss to Lions

Matt Eberflus, the head coach of the Chicago Bears, had a tough time this year.

He started off strong in 2023 but things went downhill in 2024.

  The Bears had never fired a coach during a season before, and they were proud of that.  But this year, they made some really bad decisions at the end of games, especially on Thanksgiving when everyone was watching.

 

  After a terrible loss to the Detroit Lions, the Bears finally fired Eberflus.  This was the first time they had ever fired a coach during a season.

The Bears had a lot of losses this year, and many of them were because of strange coaching choices. They even lost a game to the Washington Commanders on a Hail Mary pass. Their first-round draft pick, Caleb Williams, struggled a lot, and the team's offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, was fired.

 

    The Bears will now move on from Eberflus, and fans will remember him for the way his team lost games at the very end.

 

Eberflus' first season with the Bears was terrible, but he kept his job. 

 

The next season started badly too, but he won a few games at the end, which helped him keep his job again.

    This year didn't start too badly, but things got worse after a few weeks.  

 

Williams started playing worse, 

and the Bears lost to the Commanders on a Hail Mary.Packers but missed a field goal. They lost to the Minnesota Vikings in overtime, but the worst loss was against the Lions on Thanksgiving.

 

    The Bears were losing by a lot at halftime, but they came back to make it a close game. In the final minutes, they had a chance to win, but they made a lot of mistakes. They didn't use their timeout, and they didn't get the ball to Williams in time. It was a terrible way to lose a game.

 

    The Bears have a lot of problems, but they also have some good players. Their first-round pick, Williams, has a lot of potential. The team needs a good coach who can help Williams and the other players improve.

 

    The Bears should hire a coach who knows how to run an offense. They made a mistake by hiring Eberflus, who was a defensive coach. The next coach should be someone who can help Williams and the offense score more points.

 

    The Bears have a lot of work to do, but they can improve. They need a good coach and they need to make better decisions. If they can do those things, they might have a chance to be a good team again.
